Music, Movement & More
Who can resist moving to music?
Music, Movement & More is a group music class that turns your student’s groovin’ and movin’ into the ABC’s and Do Re Mi’s of music. Your child and a group of music-loving friends will learn about music by singing, improvising, interacting with peers, listening for musical cues, responding to musical stories, and experiencing rhythms through songs and movement. The classes are based on the highly innovative Dalcroze method.
Baby Bach classes for 2– to 3–year–olds introduce you and your child to musical concepts such as fast/slow, start/stop, high/low, taking turns—plus the classes give you a repertoire of activities to continue the fun at home.
Classes for the 4– to 6–year–old child expand on the concepts above, introduce music notation, keep all the fun, and prepare students for success in private lessons--on any instrument.
Mighty Mozart classes for the school-age child have a two fold purpose:
For the beginning musician, the classes prepare students for years of enjoyment in music lessons and introduces basic music concepts before the student commits to a specific instrument.
For the budding musician (who is already involved in music), the classes will refine skills taught during the music lessons and keep the fun in their music experience.
Music, Movement & More is based on the Dalcroze method of awakening, developing and refining innate musical talent through:
- rhythmic movement,
- innovative ear training and
- improvisation.
